Transforming JLR’s Madrid HQ with Instant’s Managed Office

Jaguar Land Rover partnered with The Instant Group to create a state-of-the-art workspace spanning 8,784 sq ft in the prestigious Monteburgos estate, outside of Madrid. This move reduced their previous office space by over 40%, providing a better designed, more modern and cost-effective solution.

JLR required a workspace that not only aligned with their hybrid working principles but also embodied their brand and ethos. With previous successful collaborations in the USA, and Hungary, JLR once again chose The Instant Group for their proven local expertise, flexible approach, and commitment to operational excellence.

• Downsizing the Workspace: JLR needed to transition from a larger, 1,218 sq m office in central Madrid to a smaller, 800 sq m space.
• Aligning with Hybrid Working Principles: The new office design needed to reflect JLR's hybrid working guidelines, promoting flexibility and collaboration.
• Reducing Costs: JLR aimed to reduce overall costs and space by up to 50%.
• Enhancing Employee Experience: The goal was to update the workspace to align with JLR's modern luxury brand ethos and improve the employee experience.
• Creating Collaborative Spaces: The design had to move away from the outdated desk-heavy layout and include more areas for teamwork and collaboration.

• Accelerated Fit-Out Programme: The Instant Group ensured the office fit-out was completed on time in under 12 weeks between lease signature and practical completion and within budget,.  This included coordinating an extensive supply chain and a high quality solution.

• Energy Efficiency and Sustainability: The new office design incorporates several sustainable features:
  • All lights are equipped with PIR sensors to ensure they only activate when necessary.
  • A daylight-saving lighting system automatically adjusts based on natural light.
  • The HVAC system is energy-efficient, operating only during working hours to save energy.
  • The building uses renewable energy sources, further reducing CO2 emissions.
  • Water-saving devices and leak detection systems help conserve water.
• Improved Employee Experience: Designed to enhance employee experience, the space includes a rooftop terrace, an Honest Greens café, and provisions for a future gym and shared meeting suites.  Furthermore, in the first 6 weeks of occupation, the JLR Madrid teams have realised maximum occupancy on Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays within their space.
• Enabled Hybrid Strategy: The workspace supports over 120 hybrid JLR colleagues in a reduced space, including 38 focus workstations and various collaborative areas. The spaces are flexible and multi-functional and designed using the JLR’s latest innovative design and workplace experience guidelines.
• Optimised Commercial Terms: The Instant Group structured the commercial terms to maximise value for JLR with best-in-class negotiations with brokers and landlords, ensuring the most favourable commercial outcome.
